Go Small Biz Project Profile
Roles: Lead product designer | Strategy consultant
Go Small Biz (GSB) is a technology company offering subscription-based services designed to support small businesses and entrepreneurs with a comprehensive suite of software tools. To align with modern user expectations, GSB aimed to update their web-based business product. This suite includes customizable templates and access to expert resources. My design efforts concentrated on two critical applications: one for legal forms and another for planning, organizing, scheduling meetings, and documenting minutes.

Research
The process began with a series of in-depth interviews with small business owners to understand their general needs and specific experiences with the client’s outdated product suite. This was followed by a website analytics review, heuristic evaluations, and a competitive analysis. Findings, recommendations, and next steps were compiled into a workshop deck.
Design Thinking workshop
A half-day workshop was organized with key stakeholders to present the research findings. This collaborative session refined the approach and defined clear design, technical, and user requirements.
UX/UI Design
With a solid understanding of project objectives and alignment with business stakeholders, the design process commenced iteratively. The design team developed user flows and wireframes, refining them in collaboration with the development team and the client using an Agile methodology. This effort produced high-fidelity mockups, an interactive prototype, and a Design System including styles and components for the client's future use.
Measurement
To validate the design decisions, usability tests were conducted using the interactive prototype with a sample of the target audience. Feedback was documented and presented to the client, leading to design updates that reflected the desired changes.
Hand off
Client deliverables included initial research documentation, flowcharts, wireframes, high-fidelity screen mockups, the interactive prototype, and the Design System (developed in Figma). Additionally, user interview recordings and usability documentation were provided.
